The situation in the war-torn south and east of Ukraine remains tense, andthere are signs of further escalation of hostilities, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on May 30.
“The Russian occupying troops are conducting intense fire along the entire contact line and are trying to shoot artillery into the depths of (Ukraine’s) defenses,” Maylar said.
“The enemy is trying to carry out assault actions along the entire contact line in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts."
According to Malyar, the situation remains difficult due to the threat of encirclement of the grouping of Ukrainian troops near Lysychansk and Severodonetsk, where the main efforts of the invadres are concentrated.
On the Lyman axis, the invaders are consolidating in Lyman and regrouping for a subsequent offensive on the strategic city of Slovyansk inDonetsk Oblast.
The invasion army is also on the attack in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, and an accumulation of forces and military equipment has been observed in the occupied parts of Kherson Oblast in the south of Ukraine.
