The Ukrainian guerrilla movement may have been involved in a series of explosions in the town of Melitopol overnight, damaging railway infrastructure, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said in a Telegram messenger post on July 24.
"Another hellish night for Rashists (Russian fascists) in Melitopol and outside the city – in three areas at once," he said.
In particular, explosions were heard and smoke was seen at the Melitopol airport, which the invaders were unsuccessfully trying to restore after Ukrainian attacks on the facility.
Explosions were also heard in the eastern direction from the city, namely near the village of Kostiantynivka.
The railway infrastructure in the Melitopol district, which was used by the invaders to transport military equipment and personnel toward the settlements of Vasylivka and Tokmak, was also damaged.
According to Fedorov, this significantly complicates the enemy's logistics.
"We're hoping for a surprise for Rashists from the resistance movement and are waiting for confirmation of the information," the mayor said.
