Ukraine’s Rada appoints Kubrakov as deputy PM and head of two merged ministries

The Ukrainian Parliament has appointed Oleksandr Kubrakov as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Golos MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported on Telegram on Dec. 1.
The appointment was supported by 263 legislators.
Earlier, NV’s sources among the representatives of the authorities said that the government was preparing a merger of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Regional Development, and this department would be headed by Kubrakov.
On Nov. 30, the legislature received Kubrakov’s resignation from the post of the Minister of Infrastructure.
On Nov. 3, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Oleksiy Chernyshov from the post of Minister of Development of Communities and Territories. Later, the Cabinet appointed him chairman of the board of the state oil and gas company Naftogaz.
