Two Russian agents who were engaged in tracking the movement of Ukrainian troops and spreading Kremlin propaganda have been detained in Mykolayiv Oblast, Ukraine’s SBU security service reported on Facebook on Sept. 13.

The SBU said one of the suspected agents had the separate task of “hunting” for the HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, which have become a priority target for the Russian invaders due to their effectiveness.

In addition, the agent collected the coordinates of critical infrastructure objects in the region for his supervisors and adjusted strikes on the Varvarivskyi bridge in Mykolayiv.

The other detainee “worked on the information front,” where he distributed materials justifying or denying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine,” the SBU said.

The first detainee has been charged under Part 3 of Art. 114−2 (unauthorized dissemination of information on the transfer of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, the movement, transfer or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), while the second detainee has been served with charge papers under Art. 436−2 of the Criminal Code (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
