The coming months of the war are going to be decisive, as Ukraine pushes to put an end to the Russian invasion by winter, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said in an interview with the Japanese public broadcaster NHK on Aug. 2.
“It would be increasingly more difficult to liberate (our) territory, should hostilities extend into winter,” said Yermak.
“We’re going to focus on finding a way to break the deadlock when it’s time.”
Yermak said that Kyiv’s counter-offensive in southern Ukraine is picking up pace.
“We’re never going to compromise over our independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty in this war,” the official said.
