Out of 70 long-range cruise missiles Russia used in its latest attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, at least 60 were intercepted mid-flight, Ukrainian Air Force said in a Telegram post on Dec. 5.

“Russian forces launched a massive missile attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, on Dec. 5; in total, more than 70 missiles were fired,” the message said.

Preliminary reports suggest that 38 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were launched by eight Tu-95 strategic bombers, flying above the Caspian Sea region and Russia’s Rostov Oblast.

“In total, more than 60 enemy missiles were shot down.”
