Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in and around 10 towns and villages in Donetsk Oblast over the past day, while Russian troops were attempting to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Andriivka sectors, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said in their Oct. 30 update.
Specifically, fighting was reported near the settlements of Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, Oleksandropil, Kamyanka, Pervomayske, and Novomykhaylivka in Donetsk Oblast.
The situation did not change drastically in the Volyn and Polissia sectors, the General Staff said. Russia continues redeploying individual units to Belarus. On Oct. 26, an echelon with military equipment was seen in Brest, Belarus. Along with Russian soldiers, so-called Kadyrovites, the personal troops of Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov, were also reportedly in Belarus.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian invasion forces launched five missiles and 23 air strikes, and attacked 100 times with the use of multiple rocket launchers. Over 45 settlements were impacted, the Ukrainian military said.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have been preparing defense positions around Kherson. The arrival of around 100 members of Russia’s National Guard from Grozny, Chechnya, were also spotted near the village of Kalanchak in Kherson Oblast.
Russian special services are reportedly intercepting telephone calls of civilians in Nova Kakhovka.
Russia's commanders continue to quarter their troops in the houses of local residents in the Zaporizhzhya Oblast village of Velyka Znamianka.
The General Staff also reported 32 Ukrainian air strikes against enemy positions in the past day, hitting 23 areas of the concentration of weapons, vehicles and manpower, three fortified positions, and six air defense positions.
Ukrainian missile forces and artillery struck six areas of the concentration of weapons, vehicles and manpower, three ammunition depots, two air defense systems and nine military facilities of critical importance.
