Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu signed an agreement with French defense company Thales Group to supply Ukraine with GM200 medium-range radars, Reznikov said in a Twitter post on Feb. 1.
“Together with my French colleague Sébastien Lecornu, signed memorandum with Thales Group on supply of GM200 radars for Ukrainian air defenders,” said Reznikov.
The minister added the new radars will help the Ukrainian army detect incoming UAVs and ballistic missiles.
“Our skies will be protected from Russia’s deadly attacks,” he concluded.
On Jan. 26, a massive Russian drone and cruise missile attack killed 11 and injured 11 more people across Ukraine. French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna was visiting Odesa on the same day.
