Ukraine will receive the An-124 Ruslan cargo aircraft confiscated from Russia as part of Canada’s new package of sanctions against the Kremlin regime, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on Facebook on April 16.

“A new package of sanctions against Russia from Canada,” the PM said.

“In particular, against the Volga-Dnepr company. We’re preparing to confiscate the An-124 aircraft and other assets of the aggressor in Canada and transfer them to Ukraine.”

Ukraine initiated the seizure of Volga-Dnepr’s planes in 2022 to ensure the preservation of physical evidence in the criminal case opened by Ukrainian state-owned aerospace company Antonov and to provide compensation for damages.
