War is becoming largely positional, says Ukrainian official

The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine looks like it’s transitioning to-wards positional warfare, Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser Rostyslav Smirnov said on Ukrainian TV on July 26.
“We can see the front lines have been static for a week and a half now – from southern Ukraine to Kharkiv in the north,” said Smirnov.
“The enemy attempts some assaults here and there, but they all fail. The front line, therefore, remains unchanged.”
According to Smirnov, this indicated that the war is becoming a positional one.
The official added that Russia is clearly “exhausting” its offensive capacity.
