The Ukrainian military has destroyed one of the largest Russian military bases in the town of Melitopol, local mayor Ivan Fedorov told Ukrainian Freedom television channel on Aug. 28.

According to Fedorov, it was located on the territory of the Avtokolorlyt nonferrous metal plant.

The mayor added that Ukrainian troops had also destroyed a building in the village of Myrne, where the Russians were making preparations to hold a sham referendum.

“Something has happened to them every day for three weeks,” Fedorov said.
