Ukrainian army embarks on counteroffensive near Kyiv
Ukraine’s Armed Forces are transitioning from defense to counteroffensives around the capital city of Kyiv, Interior Ministry advisor Vadym Denysenko said on Ukrainian national television on March 25.
“In Kyiv oblast, we’re standing our ground, counterattacking, and advancing,” Denysenko said.
According to him, operationally significant fighting took place near Kyiv last night. Artillery strikes were executed near Vasylkiv and Bila Tserkva, with intense clashes near Baryshivka, Bucha, Hostomel, and Irpin.
“We’re getting up-to-date information from the General Staff; as far as I know, we repelled many attacks and destroyed 12 (Russian) tanks, several war planes, over 10 military vehicles, and at least 300 troops,” Denysenko added.
