Russian invasion forces are trying to establish full control over the city of Severodonetsk and to encircle Ukrainian army units in the Boryvske and Voronove residential areas to the south-east of the city, Ukraine’s General Staff said in a June 22 update.

The invading Russian army has also regrouped its troops in order to strengthen its forces on the Bakhmut axis, Ukraine’s General Staff said.

The Ukrainian military repelled an assault in the direction of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant. They also halted an enemy offensive in the direction of Molodezhnoye and Katerynivka, forcing the invaders to retreat.

On the Slavyansk axis, the invaders are exerting systematic fire pressure in order to create conditions for an offense against the city of Slavyansk. They continue to conduct assault actions and carry out attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on the villages of Nova Dmitrivka, Osinyvka, Kurulka, Ivanyvka and Adamyvka.

In the Kramatorsk, Avdiivka, Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhya areas, the Russian army is fighting to tie down Ukrainian army units and prevent them from being transferred to hot spots as reinforcements.

The invading troops fired on the villages of Andriyivka, Novodonetske, Stara Ukrainka and Huliaipole, and also launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka.
