Ukrainian forces achieve good results on Dnipro’s eastern bank, says Humeniuk
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have achieved good results on the east bank of the Dnipro River, according to military spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk, who spoke in an interview with Radio Liberty on Oct. 31.
"We continue to achieve good results in our struggle—both in counter-battery and other methods of work," Humeniuk said.
“But this is not yet subject to media coverage, precisely so that the result is very strong and secured so that it is not such a short-term victory.”
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces forced the Russian army to pull back its positions on the east bank but not enough to stop them shelling the right bank.”
"In particular, the use of tactical aviation, which has recently increased significantly in the total number of reports over the right bank, testifies to the fact that artillery can no longer reach everywhere," she added
The enemy is trying to create artificial victories for itself by destroying peaceful civilian infrastructure and ruining the region's economy, Humeniuk added.
The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in a recent report that on Oct. 17–18, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made a breakthrough across the Dnipro River into the occupied part of Kherson Oblast.
Judging by the reaction of Russian "milbloggers," this operation could be more significant than previous similar raids by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the ISW said.
