SBU drones successfully target substation powering military facilities in Russia’s Kursk Oblast — video
An electricity substation supplying vital military facilities in Russia’s Kursk Oblast was attacked in the early hours of Sept. 29 by drones operated by Ukraine’s SBU security service, sources within the services have told NV.
The SBU also shared a video of the successful strike on the substation in response to a Russian Defense Ministry claim that it had "intercepted 11 drones" overnight.
The video shows the drones accurately hitting the substation, which the SBU said supplied power to "important enemy military facilities.”
“The occupiers are beginning to realize that blackout is not just a foreign word, but a reality that is already on their doorstep," the SBU sources said, commenting on this latest special operation. They promised "even bigger" attacks in future if Russia continues to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
In addition, according to NV’s sources in Ukrainian law enforcement, the cardboard drones used to strike a military airfield near Russia’s Kursk on Aug. 27 were developed by Ukraine’s SBU security service. The SBU’s military counter-intelligence unit used the new drones to damage four SU-30 aircraft and one MiG-29, as well as target an S-300 air defense radar and two Pantsir air defense systems.
