During the nine months of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Ukraine’s air defense forces have detected and tracked more than 240,000 enemy aerial targets, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyy said in Telegram on Nov. 30.
The commander-in-chief was congratulating the servicemen and employees of the Air Force’s air defense units on their professional holiday
Zaluzhnyy said that about 80% of enemy targets are destroyed by Ukrainian air defense weapons.
“(That represents) hundreds of thousands of lives saved, (and) infrastructure preserved,” Zaluzhnyy said.
“And this is an indicator of the high skill of our soldiers.”
Zaluzhny reported on Nov 3 that during the full-scale aggression, Ukrainian defenders had destroyed twice as many Russian aircraft as the Soviet Union lost during its ten-year war in Afghanistan.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated that over the past nine months, Russia has launched more than 16,000 missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, and 97% of the Russians’ targets are civilian objects.
