Ukrainian soldiers wiped out an entire enemy motor rifle battalion near the ring road around Kharkiv, Ukraine’s SBU security service said in a statement issued on April 3.

“A few days ago... in the Starosaltivskyi area, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed an enemy motor rifle battalion,” the statement says.

The SBU published a video showing identity documents and bank cards of the killed Russians.

The city of Izyum is now the most critical point in the battle for Kharkiv Oblast. Russian forces are trying to advance in the direction of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast so as to attempt to encircle Ukrainian forces in the Donbas.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are carrying out operations to remove Russian forces in the Rohan, Chuhuiv and Derhachi areas, the SBU said.

At the end of March, Ukrainian soldiers launched counteroffensives in several areas of Kharkiv Oblast. Mala Rohan and Vilkhivka have since been cleared of Russians. The enemy was also pushed out of the village of Husarivka near Balakliia.
