Ukrainian humanitarian convoy finally arrives in occupied Melitopol, says mayor
A Ukrainian humanitarian convoy has finally arrived in the town of Melitopol, which is currently occupied by invading Russian forces, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said in a video address posted on Facebook on March 25.
"The invaders did not let the humanitarian convoy into the city yesterday since the cars arrived at the northern entrance to the city after 1900 (curfew)," he said.
"They were able to enter the city only in the morning."
The cargo is currently being unloaded, Fedorov said.
He added about 350 people may be evacuated from the town by bus on March 25.
"But I am sure we will continue such humanitarian convoys with the possibility of evacuating citizens on their way back to the city of Zaporizhzhya," the mayor said.
