The drone attack on Moscow in the early hours of July 24, was a special operation of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, several media outlets reported, including Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in the security and defense sector.
All the drones launched reached the Russian capital, said the source without specifying exactly how many.
"The cooperation of volunteers and the [agency] gives good results, and more will follow," the source said.
Moscow residents awoke the sights of shattered windows and damaged building roofs after an early morning drone attack on the Russian capital on July 24. One UAV struck a business center, with another falling near the Russian Defense Ministry.
The GRU’s cyber troops were in the Defense Ministry building, reported Bellingcat investigative journalist Christo Grozev.
Moscow was also attacked by unidentified drones on May 30. According to Russian propagandists, the UAVs hit at least three high-rise buildings.
Russian Telegram channel Baza wrote that more than 10 drones were shot down in Moscow Oblast, most of them in the Istra, Krasnogorsk and Odintsovo districts.
Commenting on the attack on Moscow by unidentified drones, Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that the drones "want to return to their creators", adding that Ukraine had nothing to do with the attack.
