Claims by Russia’s FSB security service to have detained Ukrainian intelligence agents in occupied Crimea are another hostile disinformation campaign, the spokesperson of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate or HUR Andriy Yusovwas quoted as saying in a May 4 press release from the HUR.
He added that the Kremlin regime “was rightfully afraid because it will inevitably face the consequences for all its military crimes.”
The safest path for them would be to voluntarily surrender to Ukrainian justice, Yusov said.
On May 3, the Russian FSB claimed to have uncovered “agents of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense who were planning a series of terrorist attacks in Crimea.”
The FSB gave no evidence to back its claim.
