Ukrainian Military Intelligence spokesperson Andriy Yusov discussed the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) in an interview with Radio NV on Mar. 3.

"As we know, they are people who are fighting Putin's regime with weapons in their hands and who condemn the rashists'(Russian fascists’) aggression against Ukraine”, Yusov told Radio NV.

“We also know that they are Russian citizens. They are both ethnic Russians and representatives of other nations. Obviously, it is one more force on the scene that will change the future configuration of post-Putin Russia.”

RDK fighters perform combat missions within the regular Ukrainian army, in the 98th battalion of the Azov-Dnipro Territorial Defense of the 108th Brigade), reported Glavcom in October 2022.

The outlet wrote that they fight the regime of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Russia, participated in the Revolution of Dignity, and serve within the Joint Forces Operation in Eastern Ukraine.

RDK was established by Denis Kapustin, a former MMA fighter and a far-right radical known for creating “White Box”, a white supremacist clothing company based in Russia, reports Novaya Gazeta Europe. Before coming to Ukraine, Kapustin lived in Germany from 2001.

Yesterday, Russian authorities reported a shooting incident in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast involving people in military uniforms with yellow bands. It was heavily hyped by Russian propaganda, with vivid descriptions of hostage captures and even civilian deaths. Putin called the incident a “terrorist attack.”

Later a video was published that shows two fighters — RDK's commander Denis, aka 'Rex', and Alexander, aka 'Fortuna' — in front of a paramedic station in Bryansk Oblast, claiming to have crossed the Russian border.

In the video address, the fighters said that they "don't fight civilians and don't kill unarmed people", calling on Russians to try to realize that "they are not slaves" and to resist Putin's regime.

Shooting is heard in one of the videos.

Russian media later reported that the group had retreated back across the Ukrainian border.
