The Ukrainian military has destroyed the base of the Russian “Pyatnashka” illegal armed group in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, Luhansk Regional Governor Serhiy Hayday said in a Facebook post on Aug. 22.

“The base of infamous ‘Pyatnashka,’ an international gang that fought in Luhansk Oblast, is still on fire,” he said.

“A lot of 200s (killed) and 300s (injured),” Hayday added, using the old Soviet military codes for dead (200) and wounded (300) casualties.

“Modern equipment has been destroyed. To be continued.”

In turn, Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazansky on Telegram messenger published a video of the burning base, saying it had been destroyed with the use of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
