Ukrainian port city of Mariupol is 80-90% destroyed, report Mariupol authorities
Serhiy Orlov, the Deputy Mayor of the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of news magazine Forbes on March 16, said that 80-90% of the city had been destroyed by Russian shelling.
“I believe that the city is 80-90% destroyed. Not a single building has been left without damage. Either destroyed or damaged,” he said.
According to him, only city infrastructure remains functionality, but even that is heavily tenuous.
“Well, what services…Police? Russians kill them there and the fuel runs out. And there are literally a few cars of the water supply company, delivering water. Almost all the vehicles of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have been shot up, they are not able to attend the fires,” he said.
