The Ukrainian military has already demined 184 settlements which have been liberated from Russian invaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly video address on April 22.
“If at the beginning of this week, demining was taking place in 70 settlements, then as of today, 184 settlements have been demined,” the President said.
“Of course, much more needs to be done. But the pace, I think, is not bad. Every day almost 100 settlements are added to this list, to which we are re-turning medical and educational services, social welfare agency operations, and financial institutions.”
He added that transport connections to these liberation settlements are being resorted, with 96 settlements reconnected to the country’s transport network over the past day. The President added that gas stations had resumed operating in 183 settlements, and power restored to 90 of them.
Turkey may provide Ukraine with specialists and demining equipment, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrsky, said on Apr. 19.
