Ukrainian troops down Russian attack aircraft near Bakhmut with MANPADS

Ukrainian border guards downed a Russian attack aircraft near Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on Telegram on Feb. 7.
The enemy aircraft was providing air support for a Russian infantry assault on the Ukrainian positions.
"A unit opened fire with a man-portable air defense system and shot down a Russian combat aircraft, presumably a Su-25," the Border Guard Service’s message reads.
The Border Guard Service said after being hit the aircraft caught fire in the air and then crashed.
Video of the area near the crash site released by the Border Guards Service and circulating on social media shows several plumes of smoke rising from a forested area in the distance.
The pilot's fate is currently unknown.
