A Ukrainian woman and her 4-year-old son have been pulled from under rubble in Turkey, where one of the strongest earthquakes in recent years occurred on Feb. 6, the news outlet CNN Turk reported on Feb. 10.
"The search and rescue team of Istanbul's Uskudar Municipality managed to save a Ukrainian woman and her 4-year-old son," the message reads.
After the team rescued Ukrainian born Olena Akgol and her 4-year-old son, the two were transferred to hospital, where their conditions were said to be moderate.
The rescue work is ongoing.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said on Feb. 9 that five Ukrainians might be still trapped under rubble in Turkey.
