Ukrainians could encircle Russians in Bucha and Irpin, UK Ministry of Defense says
As a result of successful counter attacks, Ukrainian defenders may be able to encircle Russian invaders in the Kyiv suburbs of Bucha and Irpin, the UK Ministry of Defense tweeted on March 24.
The UK’s MoD indicates that Ukraine is also increasing pressure on Russian invaders to the north-east of Kyiv, where the enemy is already facing significant problems with supplies and morale.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces are carrying out successful counter attacks against Russian positions in towns on the outskirts of the capital and are believed to have recaptured the villages of Makariv and Moshchun, both close to the capital.
It is likely that successful Ukrainian counter attacks will disrupt the ability of Russians to reorganize and resume their own offensive towards Kyiv, UK intelligence believes.
Earlier reports from the Armed Forces of Ukraine claim they have encircled Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel, where heavy fighting has been on-going since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
