Ukrainian national power company Ukrenergo is using backup power mechanisms to restore power in a number of oblasts and are working on repairing damage caused by a mass Russian missile strike, the company reported on Oct. 10.
“The enemy is launching a missile attack on energy facilities and critical civilian infrastructure,” the electricity transmission system operator reported.
“Power outages are possible in cities and towns. Engineers are promptly using backup power schemes and working to eliminate damage.”
On Oct. 10, Russia launched a series of missile attacks on Kyiv, in particular on the capital’s city center and energy infrastructure. Many other Ukrainian cities have also been struck by Russian missiles in the same wave of attacks.
