The Russian missile attack against Ukraine on Nov. 15, caused from $500 million to $1 billion in direct losses to the Ukrainian economy, a Ukrainian MP said on Ukrainian national television on Nov. 19.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danil Getmantsev said his committee had estimated the cost of the damage done by Russia.

"According to our estimates, the attack on Nov. 15 led to direct losses to the Ukrainian economy ranging from $500 million to $1 billion," he said.

Getmantsev said the Ministry of Economy had adjusted its macro forecast to increase the GDP decline to 39% in October. He said that since Russia’s attacks did not decrease in November, GDP would continue to decline.

At the same time, he said that in addition to direct losses, there are also indirect losses, such as when enterprises cannot work due to power outages.

According to him, the overall losses of the Ukrainian economy from the Russian attacks will be "tangible."

At the same time, Getmantsev assured that there would be enough fuel for the operation of generators.

Russia conducted a massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities on Nov. 15.

A barrage of cruise missiles hit energy infrastructure facilities in the northern, central and western regions of the country.

Russia also launched missile strikes on Kyiv, with some of the projectiles hitting residential buildings in the Pechersk district of the capital. One person was killed.
