US announces $275 million in military aid to Ukraine

The United States will provide Ukraine with additional $275 million in security assistance, largely focused on defensive equipment and training, White House press service reported on Dec. 9.
U.S. Department of Defense subsequently provided the following details about the assistance package:
• Additional ammunition for HIMARS rocket artillery;
• 80,000 155mm artillery rounds;
• Anti-drone equipment;
• Counter air defense capability;
· HMMWV-based armored ambulances and medical equipment;
• Approximately 150 generators;
• Field equipment.
“This security assistance package will provide Ukraine with new capabilities to boost its air defenses in addition to providing critical equipment that Ukraine is using so effectively to defend itself on the battlefield,” the Pentagon said in its statement.
According to the message, the United States has committed $19.3 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion.
