Virus spreading fastest in Kyiv city, Ivano-Fankivsk, Sumy oblasts – 12,815 new cases, another 163 deaths

Over the past day, the biggest rises in COVID-19 cases in Ukraine were observed in the city of Kyiv, as well as in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, and Vinnytsia oblasts, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported on Jan. 19. 

In Ivano-Frankivsk region, there were 1,575 new COVID-19 cases.

In Kyiv city – 1,268;

In Lviv Oblast – 956;

In Sumy Oblast – 860;

In Vinnytsa Oblast – 767.

Ukraine reported a total of 12,815 new COVID-19 cases on Jan. 19, while 5,413 people recovered from the disease, and 163 died of it.

Since the start of the pandemic in Ukraine in early March 2020, Ukraine has recorded more than 3.87 million cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

The total death toll from the pandemic as of Jan. 19 stood at 98,712.
