Russian mercenaries will no longer take Ukrainian defenders as prisoners of war, instead they will “kill everyone on the battlefield”, said Wagner PMC founder-financier-leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, on Telegram on April 23.

Prigozhin said this while commenting on an audio recording published on April 23 by the ‘Razgruzka Wagner’ Telegram channel.

The channel claims that the audio is an intercepted conversation between Ukrainian soldiers, who had allegedly decided to shoot a wounded “Wagnerite”.

The recording allegedly features Ukrainian soldiers communicating with each other in Russian. One asks what to do with the wounded soldier whom they “smoked out of the hole.” Another replies, “shoot him.”

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the audio recording. It is unknown whose voices are on the recording.

Prigozhin, however, considers the published recording as “evidence of the shooting of a prisoner”.

The Wagner PMC founder stated that “we will not violate the rules of humanity and will simply destroy everyone on the battlefield.”

He called this new “rule” the “Law of 300”.

“We will kill everyone on the battlefield. We will no longer take any prisoners”, Prigozhin said.

He clarified that the Wagner PMC currently does not know the name of the prisoner allegedly shot by Ukrainian soldiers.
