The Warsaw City Council has renamed a pedestrian and bicycle route outside the Russian Embassy in Poland to The Avenue of the Victims of Russian Aggression, a spokesperson for the Polish Minister Coordinator of Special Services, Stanisław Żaryn, wrote on Twitter on Nov. 27.

 “The Avenue of the Victims of Russian Aggression has been opened in Warsaw,” he tweeted.

“The bicycle alley outside the Russian Embassy in Warsaw reminds us of the victims of Russian aggression. Poland remembers.”

The Warsaw City Council made the decision to rename the route along Belwederska Street outside the Russian Embassy on Oct. 14.

The relevant resolution was backed by 55 local councillors, while two voted against it.
