White House reveals details of Biden's trip to Europe
The White House confirmed that U.S. President Joe Biden will make a trip to Brussels later this month.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement that Joe Biden will participate in an extraordinary NATO summit on March 24 to discuss ongoing deterrence and defense efforts in response to Russia's attack on Ukraine, as well as to reaffirm the ironclad commitment of the United States to supporting its NATO allies.
President Biden will also join a scheduled European Council Summit to discuss further sanctions against Russia, humanitarian support to Ukraine and other war-related issues.
On March 14, CNN, citing informed sources, reported that White House officials are having preliminary discussions about the possibility of U.S. President Joe Biden making a trip to Europe.
Soon after that the U.S. Mission to NATO confirmed Biden would make a trip to Brussels.
