Civil infrastructure was damaged as a result of a Russian missile attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, Zaporizhzhia city council secretary Anatoly Kurtev said on his Telegram channel on Aug. 24.

He noted that windows were blown out and window frames were destroyed in six residential high-rise buildings. Emergency services are already on site, though the attack did not cause any casualties.

The missiles struck the city overnight on Aug. 24. Aug. 24 is also Ukraine’s 31st Independence Day, and Ukrainian authorities have warned of the risk of increased Russian attacks against Ukraine on that day.
