Russia ordered 2,400 Iranian suicide drones, Zelenskyy says

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, Moscow has ordered 2,400 Iranian Shahed-136 loitering munition UAVs, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during his video address to the G-7 summit on Oct. 11.

“I’m grateful to everyone who is already helping us to bolster our air defences, enabling us to intercept the majority of Russian missiles and UAVs,” said Zelenskyy.

“At the same time, Russia is looking to procure 2,400 Iranian Shaheds alone – according to our intelligence.”

The president added that Ukraine is under sustained Russian missile assault for two days in a row now, warning that even being “desperate,” Russian dictator Vladimir Putin can still escalate the war even further.
