Zelensky urges Putin to sit down for talks to prevent casualties
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table to stop the killing of people in Ukraine.
“I would like to address the President of the Russian Federation once again. Hostilities are taking place all over Ukraine. Let's sit down at the negotiating table to stop the deaths,” Zelensky said.
Today marks the second day since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which began on the morning of Feb. 24 following a speech by the Russian head of state.
Immediately after the aggressive statements from the Russian leader about his alleged plans to "demilitarize and denazify" Russia’s western neighbor, Ukrainian territory came under attack by Russian forces.
