Zelenskyy arrives in Azerbaijan for official visit, set to meet Aliyev

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit where he is set to meet with President Ilham Aliyev, Ukraine’s presidential office said, according to Suspilne on Apr. 25.
Officials said that during the visit the president heard briefings from Ukrainian military personnel, who shared their experience and developments in air defense.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is already working simultaneously in three key areas — relations with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region, with the European Union, and separately with Azerbaijan.
He stressed that in addition to security cooperation, plans also include expanding engagement in the energy, economic and humanitarian sectors.
On April 24, Zelenskyy met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
The sides discussed cooperation in security, energy and food sectors, as well as prospects for Ukraine’s reconstruction and the development of bilateral partnership.
Earlier, the Ukrainian president attended an informal EU leaders’ summit in Cyprus, where agreements were reached on new contributions to PURL and additional aid packages for Ukraine.
