Zelenskyy discloses details of E3-Ukraine meeting on Russia’s war losses

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met
on June 7 with Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom, French
President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the
E3-Ukraine format, he said in a Telegram post.
Zelenskyy said he briefed the partners on the battlefield
situation and Russian losses.
“For five months in a row, the aggressor has been losing
more than 30,000 troops killed and wounded. It is important that our estimates
match those of our partners: Russia is not winning on the battlefield, and our
medium-range strikes and deep strikes are significantly limiting its ability to
expand its aggression,” the president wrote.
The leaders also discussed strengthening Ukraine’s defenses
against Russian ballistic threats, which Russian troops use to terrorize
Ukrainian cities and communities.
The talks also covered ways to intensify diplomatic efforts
and Europe’s role in that process.
“It has always been a priority for Ukraine that Europe’s
position and voice in the negotiations be strong. I thank the United Kingdom,
France and Germany for their support and readiness to help. We agreed that the
teams will work on the next steps,” Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy’s UK visit
Media reports earlier said Zelenskyy would meet with Merz,
Macron and Starmer on the evening of June 7.
On June 5, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s diplomatic team was
preparing meetings with European partners and the United States that “could be
useful.”
Zelenskyy said Kyiv knows Europe is preparing new steps to
support Ukraine.
Bloomberg, citing sources, reported on June 5 that the
leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Germany planned to meet with
Zelenskyy over the weekend to discuss bringing Russia into talks on ending the
war.
The initiative came after Zelenskyy proposed new talks with
dictator Vladimir Putin, publishing an open letter to him on June 4. Putin,
however, refused to hold a leaders-level meeting.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
