Zelenskyy checks rebuilding of destroyed infrastructure while visiting Kherson Oblast

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy observed the restoration of infrastructure facilities destroyed because of Russia’s full-scale aggression while on a working trip to Kherson Oblast on March 23, said the president’s press service.
He visited the village of Posad-Pokrovske, where Russians had destroyed several houses and social infrastructure facilities.
The president was informed that restoration of electricity and water was underway, and the outpatient clinic was being rebuilt, just as residents began to gradually return to the village.
“We’ll try to rebuild it (village) before winter,” Zelenskyy said.
“Electricity (supply) is our priority task. Drinking water will be provided according to the schedule. Now they (authorities) will start working on the plan. I think everything will be fine.”
Zelenskyy also visited a local energy facility to learn about the measures taken to counter Russian shelling of the city of Kherson and other settlements in the region.
He also held a coordination meeting on the current security situation and the rebuilding of critical infrastructure facilities in the oblast.
Meeting participants discussed the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and the progress of mine clearance in the liberated territories.
Zelenskyy presented state awards to Ukrainian servicemen who had participated in the defense of Kherson Oblast. He awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and Orders for Courage, 3rd Degree, as well as Medals for Military Service to Ukraine to deserving soldiers.
One day earlier, Zelenskyy visited frontline Ukrainian positions near the town of Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, which has seen the fiercest fighting of 2023.
After that, he visited the city of Kharkiv – just 40 kilometers from the Russian border.
