Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish President Andrzej Duda are set to meet in New York in a few days, according to the Polish President’s office’s statement on Twitter on September 15.
The presidents are expected to discuss Poland’s ban on Ukrainian grain imports.
"Ukraine needs to understand our position; my task is to look after our Polish interests," Duda said.
On Sept. 12, the Polish government adopted a resolution to prolong the ban on Ukrainian grain imports after the EU-level restrictions expire on Sept. 15.
Ukraine contends that the unilateral extension of the ban violates the rules of the common market and the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
U.S. President Joe Biden will meet with Zelenskyy at the White House during his time in the U.S., Reuters reported.
Zelenskyy will participate in joint debates during the UN General Assembly session, which will run from Sept. 19 to 25.
