Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Kyiv with a delegation of U.S. businessmen and representatives of several humanitarian institutions led by Trump-era U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on April 3, the presidential site reported.

Zelenskyy welcomed investments in Ukraine and talked about development opportunities in building, farming, IT technologies and other areas.

Such topics as Ukraine's NATO integration and further toughening of sanctions against Russia were also discussed.

Pompeo was U.S. Secretary of State when former U.S. President Donald Trump was impeached for withholding military aid to Ukraine after Zelenskyy declined to interfere in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election.

Pompeo is reportedly looking to run against his former boss for the 2024 Republican nomination for U.S. President.
