Ukraine can join the European Union in two years, and become a member of NATO after the end of the war with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a speech at a summit organized by the U.S. largest investment company JP Morgan in Kyiv on Feb. 11.
“Today there are certain pessimists among world leaders who believe that Ukraine needs 10 years to become a member of the EU,” Zelenskyy said.
“But they mostly know, and sometimes even fear our spirit, our energy. Therefore, we see that we can be part of the EU in two years.”
Zelenskyy highlighted that Ukraine needs security guarantees, and expressed confidence in the country rapidly gaining membership of NATO after its victory in the war with Russia.
