Zelenskyy slaps sanctions on nearly 700 businesses and individuals, including Russian athletes

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on 438 individuals and 254 businesses, according to the presidential website on April 15.
Zelenskyy listened to the recommendations of the National Security and Defense Council to impose the sanctions or special restrictions. Advice from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) was taken into account.
One decree slaps sanctions on 87 people, including Russian athletes. Another targets 351 individuals and 254 legal entities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Youth and Sports published an order prohibiting Ukrainian national teams from competing in tournaments with athletes from the aggressor states of Russia and Belarus.
