Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to take part in the G20 summit in Indonesia, his spokesman Serhiy Nikiforov told Ukraine’s Suspilne news outlet on Nov. 8.
According to Nikiforov, the president will most likely take part online.
“The president will definitely attend the G20 summit. I can say no more,” Nikiforov said.
Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo invited the Ukrainian leader to attend the G20 summit. Zelenskyy in turn said he hoped there will be no representatives of the Russian Federation.
He also said that the format of his participation would depend on the situation in the country and at the front.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said he may be attending the summit, but no decision has been made yet.
The 17th meeting of the heads of states of the Group of 20 (G20) will take place on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
