European Parliament slams Belarus elections as illegitimate

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution condemning the repressive environment and illegitimate elections in Belarus under dictator Alexander Lukashenko. The resolution was approved by 567 MEPs, with 25 voting against and 66 abstaining, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported on Jan. 22.
