IOC lets Heraskevych stay at 2026 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee reversed its decision to revoke the accreditation of Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych for the 2026 Winter Olympics, allowing him to remain at the Games in Milan-Cortina but without the right to compete, the IOC announced on Feb. 12.

Italy to urge UN to declare global truce during 2026 Olympics

Italy will submit a proposal to the United Nations calling for a global ceasefire during the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, scheduled for Feb. 6–22, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on Oct. 7, according to ANSA.
