Ukraine’s budget deficit in 2026 is projected to reach at least $40 billion, requiring deeper cooperation with the IMF, the head of the parliamentary budget committee, Roksolana Pidlasa, said on Facebook on July 21.

Budget chief: Ukraine leads world in defense spending share of GDP
Ukraine’s defense and security spending for 2025 will rise by UAH 412.4 billion (approximately $10 billion), bringing total funding for the sector to a record UAH 2.6 trillion (roughly $65 billion), according to budget committee chair Roksolana Pidlasa.
