Russia signals possible nationwide Telegram ban from 1 April
Russia’s media and communications regulator Roskomnadzor is reportedly set to fully block the messaging app Telegram starting on April 1, 2026, according to Russian Telegram channels on Feb. 17, including Baza, a channel known for its ties to law enforcement sources.

54% of Ukrainians favor restrictions on Telegram, not a full ban
More than half of Ukrainians believe that while the messaging app Telegram should be regulated with some restrictions, it shouldn’t be banned entirely, according to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted from Sep. 1 to 6, 2024.
