Ukraine’s foreign minister defends Special Operations Forces unit name amid Polish backlash
The naming of a Special Operations Forces unit “in honor of the Heroes of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army)” was the choice of the troops themselves and was not intended as an anti-Polish gesture, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on X on June 3, as tensions between Kyiv and Warsaw continue over the move.
